This Privacy Policy explains how Latam News Media Corp ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Destinae, including Love, Fun, and Life.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Account information: name, email, password, date of birth, gender, and who you're interested in seeing
• Profile content: bio, hobbies, photos, and videos you upload
• Messages you send to other members
• Payment information, handled directly by Stripe (we do not receive or store your full card number)
• Information you provide for optional safety features, such as a trusted contact's name and email for a date check-in

Information collected automatically:

• Approximate location, used to calculate distance to other members — other members only ever see a distance figure, never your exact coordinates
• Device and usage information, such as your language setting and general app activity
• A push notification token, if you enable notifications, used only to deliver notifications to your device

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate Destinae's core features: matching, messaging, and video calling between members
• To calculate zodiac-based compatibility scores
• To process subscription payments and manage your billing
• To verify profile photos and screen uploaded photos and videos for policy violations
• To send you transactional emails (like a welcome email or password reset) and, if enabled, push notifications
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service

3. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the following categories of service providers, solely to operate Destinae:

• Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions
• Amazon Web Services (Rekognition) — automated photo/video content moderation and photo verification
• Cloudflare — secure storage of uploaded photos and videos
• Resend — delivery of transactional emails (welcome emails, password resets, date safety check-in notifications)
• Agora — infrastructure for in-app video calls between matched members
• Render — hosting of our backend servers and database

Each of these providers is contractually restricted to using your information only to provide their service to us, not for their own independent purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our members or the public.

4. Your Rights and Choices

You can, at any time, from within the app:

• Download your data — Settings → Privacy & Data → Download my data, which provides a copy of your profile, matches, and message history
• Delete your account — Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete my account, which permanently removes your profile, photos, videos, matches, messages, and cancels any active subscription
• Control your preferences — including who you're shown to, your discovery distance, and whether push notifications are enabled

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, photos, videos, messages, and swipe history are deleted, except where we are required or permitted to retain certain information — for example, to comply with applicable law, to evidence our compliance with applicable law, to resolve an outstanding dispute or claim, or for legitimate safety and security purposes such as enforcing an account block or investigating a safety report.

6. Children's Privacy

Destinae is intended solely for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it and terminate the associated account.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage and secure data transmission. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. By using Destinae, you consent to your information being processed in these locations, which may have different data protection laws than your own country.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before they take effect.
